Removing Etch Marks From Marble Table | Marble Cleaning, Polishing and Sealing in Sligo
What is an Etch Mark on marble?
An etch mark on marble is when the marble surface is altered by a corrosive chemical like acid, even very mild acids. This is mainly due to the calcium carbonate in the marble which is easily eaten away by acidic chemicals, and its not just marble that can be etched, you can also have the same problem with polished limestones like Travertine. Most limestones contain a high percentage of Calcium Carbonate.
Etch marks will often look lighter in colour when the etching has first happened, this leaves a very tiny layer of the stone a little rough to the touch where the polished surface (finish) has been removed.
Etch marks can be caused by a variety of different things like fruit juices, alcohol, cleaning products and sauces, The strength of the product and how long it is left on the surface of your marble, all of these will determine how bad the etch mark will be.

Most grout is concrete based and thus porous. This means it absorbs liquids and dirt easily, and when it does, those substances can stain and discolor the grout. The best way to avoid this is to have your Ceramic Tile and grout professionally cleaned and sealed at least once every 2 years (depending on household) What happens if you don't clean grout? Most people don't think about grout cleanin...

TRAVERTINE STONE FLOOR AMAZING TRANSFORMATION By First Class Floor Care in Donegal
Very nice! so do you seal after polishing?
First two questions I have are 1. what PSI were set to And 2. You mentioned Hot Water extraction... I was under the impression that cold water was the best. What temp?
Would you do a job in Dublin?
We do work nationwide (job size depending)
I'll contact you 😊
www.firstclassfloorcare.ie/natural-stone-restoration
hi Daniel I live in Allen tx, do u work in the us
Afraid not guys, we are based in Ireland
Years? That's one day near a beach
You can see the years of dirt build up on the grout lines 🤩🤩
Your competing with the music?
useless video: you don't show how you do and what yoiu use to polish
This video is to show the difference between polishing a travertine floor vs just cleaning
Such a beautiful stone floor
Agreed 🤩🤩
Hi -- what kind / grade of pad did you use for the cleaning ? thanks
Hey, after we let the clesning agent dwell we used a soft white brush on the orbital , as it's uneven I feel the brush head does a better job
Well done bro 💯💯..what temp you using on this floor in particular?
Thanks lads 🙌 this was just 50 / 60° heat, the chemical did most of the work
Well done man
Cheers buddy 🙌
And here's me, just wool carpeted my stairs and living room 😅
Wool carpet is a great choice, just make sure you have it professionally maintained every 12 - 18 months to make sure dirt doesn't build up in it, as you can't use stong chemistry on wool carpet like synthetic carpet
Wonderful. Except for that loose rubber piece flapping around everywhere and triggering my OCD. 😆
😅😅😅
👍👍👍💯💯💯
🙌🙌🙌
Olá. Tenho uma duvida do que uaou no spray. Peróxido de hidrogênio? Tenho interesse de iniciar isso no brasil. Obrigado pelos vídeos. 🎉
Hi Mario, I think this was an enzyme clesning agent, best of luck in the new business 🙌
This is just an advert for your services, no help at all. We're all here because we need tips on how to remove these stains but all you tell us is that you have to use a Super Special Solution that is Top Secret and you're not going to tell us what it is or where to buy it. Why?!?!?!?!?
We are you located may be able to share what stone pro or material you-recommend to bring the sheen to my honed travertine floor
The best way "in my opinion' to bring a honed floor to polished floor would be through professional polishing, there are other alternatives however depending on budget, you can use a polishing powder or else apply a topical sealer
@@FirstClassFloorCare thank you very much for your help 👋🏻I appreciate your time
No problem at all 🙌
Were you located?
Sligo, Ireland 😎
Do you use resin pads like 100 grid then moved to the green sponge pads?
@AZ-Dawa It depends on the condition of the floor so it varies from job to job
Can't hear a word
Horrific background noise!!!!!
Nice wand: What’s the inches of the head and of the tube?
That's the 1.5 inch 2-jet devastator wand 🙌
14" I think
The previous owner of my property install the same slate on the kitchen floor. It looks great, but a nightmare to clean. The unevenness of the tile is another headache. It is hard to wear slipper or flip flop walking in my kitchen. I tripped a few times . I don't understand why that previous owner chose such high maintenance tile😩😩😩😩😩😩Contractors said the cabinet is on top of the floor, so unless I remodel the whole kitchen, I can't take out that stupid floor!
What is a five five cleaner.. I guessing a cleaner on the acidic side but what???
Good Job However, I noticed that not all objects were cleared from the floor before starting the work. I observed the flower pot and chairs still sitting there.🙄
I like your videos. Im about to get into cleaning tile floors. Is there a difference between using a powerscrubber and the wand for cleaning effectiveness?
When you say "Powerscrubber" which tool are you referring to?
Thank u for replying. I mean the autoscrubber from Bona..
Also, what type of brush are you using on the 175?
Ah yes, that looks very similar to the Karcher scrubber dryer we have, With a longer dwell time that should do the trick, but if the grout is recessed too far down the brushes on the scrubber won't be able to agitate it
A soft / medium carpet brush
No concern about efflorescence on stone tiles and water ?
These tiles are ceramic not stone
@@FirstClassFloorCare makes complete sense I live in the British Virgin Islands and have some natural stone tiles that are hazed with efflorescence and stumbled on your last stone tiles video and got lost in a rabbit hole
I work in the natural stone care business and the tiles that occupy most of the kitchen floor are called Slate. They’re a natural stone cut into squares but are left with the uneven surface to go along with the nice dark textures. Naturally what we would use to clean that type of stone whether it be inside or outdoors, is a muriatic acid mix. Just basically a lighter, softer acid diluted with water. We don’t use too many of the crazy spinner head power washers but we do use an abrasive process accompanied with a vacuum tool that’s got a straight line of 7 mini high pressure jets. In my opinion you can get way more color and a way cleaner look with a full abrasive process as opposed to just pressure washing tools. Great video though; the attention to detail in terms of cleanliness is one of the best giveaways for a moderately good floor cleaning company!
Hot water or steam, you are not doing both surely. My guess steam would melt or damage carpet. So if this is the case its hot water cleaning.
Technically it's called "HWE" which stands for Hot Water Extraction, but it's commonly referred to as 'Steam Cleaning' so they are the same, most professional carpet cleaners have either a TM (Truck Mounted System) which produces heated water, or portable users will add warm / hot water to their machine and use an external heater to boost the heat to 110° this method is safe and is recommended by carpet manufacturers for the deepest clean. As your always moving the wand the hot water won't be on the same fibers long enough to cause any damage. Hope that helps 🙌
I Wet my pants just a little bit. Just a little.😂😂
😅😅😅
Great job! What kind of fans you got there?
Those ones are Dri-pods
What type of sealer did you go with? Water or solvent base? Lovely work mate
Thanks bud 🙌 I believe it was an impregnating solvent sealer
💔 Promo>SM
If you were to skip the crb, it would still clean as easy. I find crb worthless most of the time, i had it. Just try without it you’ll see what I’m talking about.
What sealer do you use on a floor like this?
I think we applied an impregnating solvent sealer to this floor once we polished it 😀
This is the most satisfying travertine cleaning video I've ever seen, well done!
Glad to hear it 🙌 Many more to come 👍👍
I don't see how anyone could understand or hear a word you are saying....
what machine is that?
so you are using the same strength as carpet details or so. also water and neutralizer at the end with cool machine? what sealer is it?
Please show more vacuuming except in regular speed
What car is that? I have a Nissan NV200, and I want to buy a Sapphire, but I'm not sure about the space or if it can be installed in my car.
It's a Ford Transit Custom, We kept the 370ss in it for a couple of months before upgrading to a bigger van as it was too tight in there when you needed to being more equipment on jobs
What pre treatment you use, i am starting a new cleaning company
i always wonder why people would allow that level of dirty happen to their precious 100% wool rug lol
I’ll tell ya… they are a pain to vacuum (normal vacs ruin it) and shampooed also ruin it.. I started delicately caring for my rug but then started to ruin it. Not even two years old my wool rug is toast from vacuuming.
A lot of my customers say, over time, they don't see it building up, but then they move a piece of furniture or coffee table off the rug where it has been protected and can see how clean that area is vs the unprotected part of the rug
Post some more videos!
Looks great l, which sealer did you use?
This one was a solvent deep enhancer sealer 🙌
Why were the holes not filled?
What are you using as a pre- spray?
What was you fluid you used?
Omg why do you have that machine running?
what chemical did you spray on the floor
what did you use to wash it with
